Community Guidelines | Building a Respectful Space Together
At Yarn Over Hook, we’re on a mission to build the best community for crochet artists in the world, and we’re committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for our members. Thank you for helping us create a welcoming space for all.
By participating in our community, you agree to abide by the following guidelines as well as our Terms of Service.
Please take a moment to review our Community Guidelines:
No Tolerance for Harassment
- Zero Harassment Policy: Bullying, discrimination, or hate speech will not be tolerated. Hate speech and hateful imagery are not permitted.
- Report Issues: Use the “Report” feature to flag inappropriate content.
- Be Respectful: Treat others with respect and courtesy. Offer helpful suggestions, not unkind criticism.
Share Appropriately
- Original Content: Share your own work or give credit where it’s due.
- Relevant Posts: Keep discussions and posts related to crochet and fiber arts.
- Stay On Topic: To maintain our focus and deliver more value, please avoid discussions about politics, religion, or other unrelated subjects. There are other well established platforms better suited for these topics.
- Crochet Focus: While we support all fiber arts, our community is dedicated solely to crochet.
Protect and Respect the Privacy of Others
- Personal Information: Do not share anyone’s personal details without consent.
- Private Communications: Respect the confidentiality of private messages.
No Spam
- Avoid Unsolicited Messages: Unsolicited promotional private messages are considered spam.
- Limit Crossposting: Posting the same message to more than two boards without permission from the group owner/moderators is not permitted. Unreasonable crossposting is considered spam.
Consequences for Rule Violations
- Account Restrictions: These rules are in place for the safety and comfort of everyone. Breaking them is not tolerated and may result in your account being temporarily restricted and/or permanently removed. We take these guidelines seriously to maintain a positive environment for all members.
