New Year, New Blankets 2026

Stitch In. Give Back. Start 2026 with Heart.

Start your new year with purpose and stitches that matter. New Year, New Blankets is a global charity crochet along where our Yarn Over Hook community will create and donate cozy blankets to charities in their local community. Join our first annual community charity event!

We all know how much I love blankets! Give me a blanket where I’m able to learn a bunch of new techniques AND have a finished product in the end? ✨Absolutely yes, and I wanted to design a beginner-friendly blanket that would do that for you as well! When you finish this sampler style blanket, you will have gone through 11 different stitches, a fun yet subtle seam, and a quick and easy border. I would not blame you if you ended up making another one for yourself!

For 6 weeks over 13 livestreams, we will go over the 11 squares featured in this blanket, with the remaining 2 livestreams at the end dedicated to seaming the squares and adding the border! Each pattern will be released on the corresponding livestream day.

  • December 16th – Introducing our blanket! Let’s chat about everything you’ll need to know. Watch the livestream! From here until Jan 10th, you’ll have time to grab your yarn and tools!🧶
  • January 10th – February 14th – Every Tuesday at 330p PT & Saturday at 12p PT will be a new stitch! We will walk through each of them together during a livestream with the pattern and instruction. Don’t worry if you miss one! The recordings will be saved to our channel!
  • February 17th – Let’s seam our squares together! We’ll walk through a fun technique that I’m sure you’ll be using in your next projects!
  • February 21st, Final Stream – Let’s kiki and add the last touch! On our final day, we will walk through a fun and simple border to complete your blanket, chat about our charities, and talk ideas for the next year’s blanket!

Get the full stitch schedule with links to the livestream below!
